Planning Granted for Conversion of Water Tower – 21/06/2011

Planning permission has recently been obtained for the dramatic conversion of listed water tower in Cheshire.

The tower near Ollerton is 24.4 metres or 83 feet high and will have 6 floors plus a roof terrace with a glass atrium. The scheme was carefully negotiated with the local authority planners and conservation officer so as to maintain the essential characteristics of the tower whilst providing stunning accommodation internally.

To access all the floors will be a lift which will serve the 5 bedrooms on floors 2 to 4 and the next two floors will house the lounges, kitchen, dining and snug areas. At ground floor will be a glazed single storey extension that opens out onto the Cheshire countryside providing a day kitchen, dining area and large garden room. The ground floor and first floor of the tower will ALSO provide an entrance hall and a large spiral staircase that runs the whole height of the tower. As well as providing a stunning view of Cheshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire and Wales from the lounge window, the tower also gives a unique style of accommodation resulting from the individual form of the building. The property is currently being considered for development or sale.
