Planning Granted for Remodelling of 1960s Bungalow in Mottram St Andrews – 17/02/2012
Planning permission has recently been obtained for the alteration of this 1960s bungalow situated within the Green Belt, which remained unchanged since its creation.
The approved design transforms the dated structure by raising the roof substantially and adding dormers to create 5 bedrooms of accommodation at first floor. At ground floor, the existing rooms are enhanced with the family room and dining kitchen having a vaulted ceiling with a bridge above linking the two bedroom areas. The house is given an impressive arched stone entrance with a grand staircase flanked by 2 storey windows spanning the two levels.
Externally, the property will be given stone features and bays with a chimney stack to the rear. A stone plinth, render finish, grey slate roof and charcoal aluminium windows will complete the transformation to provide an all but new house.
This was achieved despite the restrictive Greenbelt policy through close cooperation with the local authority Planners.
