Kesadale, Appleton

The design sought to maximise the buildable space on the site and to utilise the flow of the land which slopes from front to back, whilst keeping within the constraints agreed with the Planning Department. The aesthetics take cues from the traditional house styles of the surrounding properties, whilst providing a contemporary feel with use of materials and detail. Curves and bows outside the traditional ‘box’ and changes of level inside, provide unconventional internal spaces providing a new point of interest at every turn. The specification called for quality building materials and high performance levels to create the open living spaces and split level features, naturally lit by extensive glazing to maintain the contemporary feel from within.
