Plockton has been transformed from a modest run down cottage, to a spacious family home future proofed for the 21st Century.
Situated in a Conservation Area on the edge of urban development and facing the Green Belt, the challenges of the local Planning Department were met, and expectations exceeded to provide a mix of modern and traditional, features and materials which allow the building to blend into it’s surroundings comfortably.
The original house has been completely refurbished and upgraded, a loft conversion carried out, and new extensions to the side and rear added to cleverly exploit all available space. The contemporary kitchen extension to the rear forms a striking addition from both inside and out, with large sliding folding doors allowing the space to be opened up to the retained mature garden.
Bespoke details, fixtures and fittings are incorporated throughout the exterior and interior – a product of close teamwork between Architect, Client, Contractor and sub-Contractors. With the completion deadline met, all involved can be rightly proud of a job well done.
